Update on SLO class

School = lots of hard work; some very rewarding moments - some failures to be sure.
Don't have a camera here so I'm posting an older painting (my dear friend Michael owns this one) since it's similar to what we worked on today: refining techniques: composition, values, focal points. Hope to post a couple 'winners' next week when I get home.
"Winter Pears" - oil on canvas; 12x12.

Won't be long

Spring is not far off. This was a fun little painting to do -acrylic on French archival paper. 5x7" Getting into the soon-to-be Spring - easter-egg hunts mood. What to call it? Any ideas?

Writing to you from the Art Center in San Luis Obispo. One of the best ways to stay fresh is to hunker down a couple times a year with a bunch of other painters in an intensive week-long workshop. Painting 9:00 - 5:00, 5 days hones skills, gets the creative juices flowing. Should come home with at least a couple new pieces and lots of new ideas. Will share what I've picked up at my March class and April classes.

Thanks to ALL

A huge thank you to my friends and family who came out to support my Valentine's Day solo exhibit reception. It meant so much to have you all turn out!
It was a great afternoon. The sun shown on beautiful Sausalito and people were buzzing with good energy while they viewed the art, snacked on treats, and visited with me and each other. Quite a nice turnout. A memorable day for me; especially nice to find new homes for some of my art!
Happy Valentine's Day, Mary
